Wolves Lane Grows for Haringey Parks!

IMG_0131

Have you ever wondered what’s growing in the last greenhouse beyond the reception desk at Wolves Lane?

Right now Wolves Lane Centre is growing pansies for Haringey Parks!

One of the important functions that Wolves Lane performs is to grow, distribute and plant the beautiful flowers that you can see all around in the parks, gardens and waysides about Haringey.

The pansies are being grown until they are ready for planting. Pansies are perennials and so can be planted before winter, so they are ready to bloom for us next summer. Stuart and his team are hard at work, getting these pretty flowers ready to plant around Haringey soon!

“The garden pansy is a type of large-flowered hybrid plant cultivated as a garden flower…Pansies are perennial, but normally grown as biennials or annuals because of their leggy growth. The first year plant produces greenery, and bears flowers and seeds in its second year of growth. Afterwards, the plant dies like an annual. ” – Wikipedia
