Plants – and BOOKS – for Sale

by the Wolves Lane gate!

.
Our very popular plant sale on Saturday continues!
.
.
There are books for sale now too at Wolves Lane: children’s book and gardening books galore!
.

Plants for sale are seasonal and every week brings new things for sale at Wolves Lane!

.

This Saturday 1 August we will have:
.
Fruits  –
  • lots of very sweet damson plums, organic and allotment-grown,
  • and also some fresh green figs from the tree on site.
  • New this week for fruit growers, our very special Cape gooseberry (physalis berry) plants have now rooted from cuttings of the palm house ones.
  • There’s a loquat tree or two
  • and a potted cherry.
.
Papyrus
  • We just dug up and potted some huge papyrus that some people asked for – at least 1 metre tall.
.
For indoor pots or for hedging,
  • we’ve also potted up some bamboos from our own hedge, which are even taller. They grow new root and shoots very fast and you can save money by using them for garden canes.
.
Our indoor/outdoor selection includes
  • purple heart,
  • clivia lilies, and
  • canna lilies, all of which can go outside till it gets frosty and then come indoors for the winter, after which they will do many seasons more.
  • And some nice big yuccas which can stay indoors in pots or survive a light frost outside.
.
Cut flowers!

For outdoor planting,

  • there’s still time for herbs like rosemary
  • and mint,
  • as well as geraniums
  • and our last few four o’clock flowers.

Not to mention our regular indoor lines of

  • philodendron,
  • spider plants,
  • mother of thousands,
  • and tradescantia.’
.
Cut flowers are also available to order.

Tomorrow Sunday Plant Sale too!
.
Black Rootz will do a sale of veg and flower plants on Sunday 11 to 4
.
.
.
Request for 1 litre plastic pots
.
We’re running short of pots, especially the 1 litre size, so if you have any that you would like to dispose of, we’d be grateful if you could leave them in the crate which we’ll put by the gate on Saturday.
.
We find washed 1kg yoghurt pots are very useful for planting as well.
.
.
Come by the gate where we will put out pots, a price list and a collecting tin –
.
and if you have any questions, there will be people weeding close by, so do give us a shout.
.
~~
Thank you to everyone who visited Wolves Lane last week!
.
There was enormous appreciation from the public and we made a goodly amount for site repair/tools fund.
.
Your support is appreciated.

whatever other plants we can rustle up for sale!
.
.
Do drop by and see if there’s something you fancy
for your garden or your window sill.
