Animals

From April 1st 2017, Haringey Council awarded management of Wolves Lane to OrganicLea (recently renamed the Wolves Lane Consortium).

*** *** *** *** ***

Prior to management handover in 2017, rescue animals lived at Wolves Lane.

All animals have been re-homed, except for the koi and terrapins in the Palm House. The koi and terrapins will remain at the facility and arrangements have been made for their care.

“We have a number of rescue animals that have found a new safe home at Wolves Lane Garden Centre. They love to have visitors and hope that you will come visit soon!

They’re at the back of the property – just walk through the greenhouse by reception, out the back and look towards the chicken coop and the barn. There are signs to show the way. Or just ask Reception to point you in the right direction!

Cockatiel: IMG_0838

Our cockatiel loves to meet new people and hopes that you will come visit her soon at Wolves Lane Garden Centre!

You can talk to her – she enjoys chatting and chirping with new friends!

(But please do NOT put your fingers into her cage as she doesn’t like it.)

She came to Wolves Lane Garden Centre as cockatiels live a long time and she needed a new home. She likes to play with her toys and clean her feathers.

She lives near the front, by reception. Come in the front door, turn right past reception and keep walking along the greenhouse doors. Her home is in the main display hall.

The “Gwinns”:Gwinn 1

Our guinea pigs are called the ‘Gwinns’ – two white rescue guinea pigs that share a big hutch with another grey and a black and orange guinea pig in the barn. The barn keeps them safe from foxes and warm at night and in the day they go outside to eat lots of grass.

One of the Gwinns is very noisy and talks all the time but the other is really quiet.

Peter:IMG_0898

Peter, one of our newest additions, loves to have visitors and hopes that you will come visit him soon!

He likes to eat lots of carrots and crunchy vegetables. His nose wiggles a lot when he’s happy. He has a white coat of fur and blue eyes.

He lives with his new brother (also white) and two new sisters (with shiny black coats). In the day, he nibbles the grass outside. At night, he sleeps in the barn with the guinea pigs!

Budgies:IMG_0845

There’s a new green budgie friend for our yellow budgie at Wolves Lane!

Come and visit – both these boys enjoy chatting and chirping with new friends! (But please do NOT put your fingers into their cage as they don’t like it.)

They live near the front, by reception. Come in the front door, turn right past reception and keep walking along the greenhouse doors. Their home is in the main display hall across from the cockateil.
