WLFC Mother’s Day & Spring Workshop
WLFC are hosting a spring workshop on the 22nd March to celebrate the season along with Mother’s Day – everyone is welcome!
There will be a tour of our micro flower farm, flower arranging, and tea and cake!
Bring your mum / friend / auntie /friends and family ( all welcome here!) along and join us for a morning of flower arranging with British tulips, narcissi, fritillaries and seasonal foliage. You’ll go home with a beautiful….

Edible London Volunteer Sessions
Come join Edible London volunteer days: get to know your community, meet new people, learn new skills and be inspired! Lunch provided to all volunteers.
Whether it be one day a week or an hour a month – please do not be shy and please sign up to Edible London’s newsletter to keep up with one off sessions running over the winter period.
Anyone with the time to commit to volunteering and an interest in learning about horticulture, cookery and community engagement is welcomed with open arms.

CROP DROP AUTUMN SUPPER CLUB
September 26th, 2019
Crop Drop hosted a supper club at Wolves Lane Horticultural Centre, Wood Green.
Alan Rosenthal, a local Leith’s-trained chef, created a Southern Mediterranean and Middle Eastern inspired menu of sharing plates using ingredients mainly sourced from Haringey and Enfield. It was an evening of beautiful food and nourishing conversation and exploring the glasshouses where some of your dinner was grown.

AUTUMN COMMUNITY MARKET
September 15th, 2019
Over 200 people attended yet another fabulous community market held at Wolves Lane Horticultural Centre.
As usual, there was: tasty food – music – plants, seeds and veggies for sale – palm house tours – family activities – market stalls with crafts, vintage clothes and much, much more! Black Rootz, Go Grow, Edible London, Crop Drop and many more vendors showcased their products and services.

WOTE PARTY AND WORKSHOP
August 31st, 2019
Over 170 enthusiastic supporters of Wretched of the Earth (WOTE) gathered for a BBQ party and workshops at Wolves Lane!
Activities
Workshops, singing, yoga, art, BBQing, cooking and feasting ensued! WOTE provided child care and BSL signers for those would need it, and lunch for all participants.

WOLVES LANE VOLUNTEERS’ AWAY DAY
August 13th, 2019
The volunteers from various Wolves Lane teams had an “away day” to Kew! Through Ubele’s Community Membership, the volunteers were able to visit this historic botanical garden. It was an excellent chance for Wolves Lane volunteers to observe and learn from Kew professionals’ advanced gardening techniques!
What is Kew Gardens? Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew has over 50,000 living plants and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

POWER TO CHANGE PARTY
August 6th, 2019
Last week, Power to Change celebrated their Back to Nature” Summer Party at Wolves Lane Centre. We had 31 people over and it was a great day!
It included creative workshops delivered by Edible London, Black Rootz, Pavement2Catwalk and us, as well as Tobi Akingbolagun’s incredible vegan feast. It was a great opportunity to talk about growing, the local food system and community projects.

KEW GARDENS VISIT
March 8th, 2019
On International Women’s Day March 8th, a group of Wolves Lane volunteers went to a spectacular exhibition at Kew Gardens to view Colombian Orchids.
Kew, in conjunction with Colombian Scientists and Conservationists, created an exhibition that showcased Colombian handicrafts, animals and beautiful tropical plants as well as more than 5,700 orchids. It was an excellent chance for Wolves Lane volunteers to observe and learn from Kew professionals’ advanced gardening techniques.
Through Ubele’s Community Membership, the volunteers were able to visit this fabulous display. Ubele’s leadership at Wolves Lane is greatly appreciated.

JHUS VISITED WOLVES LANE

Celebrity Singer and Rapper JHUS visited Wolves Lane – to the great excitement of Wolves Lane and our guests of the evening!
JHUS is the winner of the VO5 NME Award for Best Album 2018, is a Mercury Prize for Best Album nominee, and has been multiply nominated at the Brit Awards 2018 for Best Single, Best Breakthrough Act, and Best Album. See him live in the documentary below:

STELLA MCCARTNEY FASHION SHOOT

SMC shot on site for one day at the end of August. (We couldn’t release this information until after the SMC Autumn/Winter 2018 editorial was made public!)
SMC shot most of the stills images up by Wolves Lane Flower Company’s flower growing plots, and in the walk way between the Edible London UK and the cactus house. Some images were taken at the back of Edible London’s glasshouse.
The shoot featured two SMC models and the fabulous Brian, who currently serves as Chairdog of the Board at Wolves Lane Flower Company.

MAY COMMUNITY MARKET 2017

There were Squashes, Sunflowers and More For Your Garden! Plants, cakes and friendship!
Over 200 community members, supporters, fans, young and old alike, visited the market to celebrate gardening, buy new plants, learn about community groups operating locally, taste delicious BBQ chicken and many other treats, browse organic and locally sourced cosmetics and honey, try on handmade locally produced jewelry… and some even got their bike fixed for free!
Children enjoyed face painting, drawing and games. The cafe and grounds were a hive of activity, old friends greeting each other in the sun, picnicing on the verge, acquaintances renewed, and new friends were being made.
